The new GT-R Nismo arrives locally in February, now Nissan revealed U.S. pricing for the new Nissan GT-R NISMO. The most extreme version of the Nissan’s GT-R supercar slayer boasts fresh interior looks and further refinements. The updated 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO is ‘a significantly reinforced hood avoids deformation at extremely high speeds, allowing it to keep its aerodynamic shape’. In simple words, the GT-R NISMO no longer has unintentional active aerodynamics. That’s a good thing.
Nissan GT-R Nismo Features:
The Nismo’s 3.8-liter turbocharged V6 develops 600 hp and features an advanced independent rear transaxle AWD sys. A few minor changes on the bodywork improving airflow and unique Nismo suspension tuning set the range-topping edition of GT-R further apart from the conventional model.
Nissan’s new flagship features plenty of track-derived tech including carbon fibre elements for the bodywork and large turbochargers borrowed from the Bathurst 12 Hour-winning Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3.
Fresh interior design traits comprise a Nappa leather-wrapped instrument panel, 8-inch touch panel monitor. And reorganized mounting of the shift paddles behind the car’s steering wheel and a new lightweight seat design.
Nissan GT-R Nismo Performance:
Unchanged is the twin-turbo 3.8-lit V-6 engine, which still makes 600 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque, up from 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft in lesser trims. Four colors are available: white, black, silver, and red.
The beast’s engine actually uses the same pair of high-flow, large diameter turbochargers at the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 car. As per usual, the GT-R Nismo sports all-wheel drive and a six-speed dual-clutch with magnesium paddle shifters.
Performance is also improved via tweaked shocks, springs and stabilisers. Which along with the stiffer body and an improved aerodynamics are said to improved slalom and cornering ability. Also features extensive use of carbon-fibre.
The 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO arrived at U.S. dealerships throughout the summer and is priced at $174,990.
