Canon recently announced a new digital camera called the PowerShot SX620 HS, a compact superzoom camera with a 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and 25x optical zoom. It is designed to offer lots of connectivity and high zoom levels in a compact package.
It has Canon’s ‘Intelligent Image Stabilizer’ that picks the right ‘mode’ depending on the situation, an Auto Zoom feature for adjusting focal length as subject depth changes, and numerous special effects. It also features a 3″ LCD and Wi-Fi with NFC.
It provides a 25x optical zoom covering an equivalent 25-625mm range, outdoing the 25-450mm equivalent range of its SX610 predecessor. For direct uploads and new ways of sharing, the PowerShot SX620 HS is also compatible with the Canon Connect Station CS100. The new Canon PowerShot SX620 HS is available now with an RRP of £219.99/€299.99.
With the high levels of available zoom, stabilizing the image is very important so that shots made at higher levels of zoom don’t get blurry. The camera body is small enough that fit into a purse or pocket to take with you wherever you go.
It wireless connectivity options allow the sharing of images directly to a computer or other compatible devices including the Canon Connect Station CS 100. Its 20.2MP CMOS sensor has DIGIC 4+ Image Processor to help with high quality images, even in low light conditions. The camera can record 1080p full HD video. The rear screen is a 3-inch unit with 922k dot resolution and it has wide viewing angles. A hybrid auto mode lets users record video for 4 seconds before an image is captured and combines clips into a video recap of the day.
